Continue reading »]]> November 9, 2010 – The leadership of Section NE-7B attended and took part in the 2010 Northeast Region Section Officers’ Seminar (SOS) held from November 5-7, 2010 at Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine, NJ. The Section Officers’ Seminar is a weekend course designed for the officers, advisers and conclave coordinators of a section.  The weekend focuses mainly on the administering aspects of a conclave and is designed for officers of the sections throughout the region to share ideas and energy amongst each other. Representing Section NE-7B at the event was Brandon Azoulai (Section Chief), Sean Hoelle (Section Vice Chief), Connor Morabito (Section Secretary), Ralph Jackson (2011 Conclave Coordinator), Jess Hurwitz (Section Adviser), Sherri Raco (Associate Section Adviser) and Bill Raab (2011 Conclave Finance Adviser). The weekend was full of training, fun and fellowship.

Continue reading »]]> July 25, 2010 -Congratulations to Tom Raco, 2009-2010 Section NE-7B Vice Chief , for his induction into the BSA National Hall of Leadership. The National Hall of Leadership was created to recognize outstanding leadership by a Scout, registered leader or Scouting volunteer who has made a significant difference in the life of another by the extraordinary service they have given and the Scouting virtues they have modeled. Continue reading »]]> July 7, 2010 – Section NE-7B welcomes Jason Tewes as our new Section NE-7B Staff Adviser. Jason is an Eagle Scout and a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow from Buckskin Lodge. Jason works for the Greater New York Councils (GNYC) as a Sr. District Executive for the Borough of Queens. Jason replaces Julio Garcia who served as Section Staff Adviser from 2008 to 2010.

Continue reading »]]> June 24, 2010 – Sherri Raco of Nacha Nimat Lodge was appointed as Associate Section Adviser for Section NE-7B by David Borchard, Deputy Northeast Region Director, at the request and recommendation of Section NE-7B Adviser Jess Hurwitz and Scout Executive Stephen Gray of the Hudson Valley Boy Scout Council. This appointment is for a one year term and concludes at the 2011 Section Conclave. Sherri was recognized for her exceptional work and efforts last year working with the Section as the 2010 Conclave Adviser. In her new role Sherri will act as a liaison between the Section and Conclave Service lodge for the upcoming 2011 Section Conclave.
